Gilbert’s is proud to welcome Thomas Dumigan and Jocelyn Mackie as the newest members of its Partnership.

Thomas helps clients navigate their disputes before the Courts practically, creatively, and successfully. He acts on complex and contentious intellectual property, commercial, and indigenous matters, regularly appearing before the Federal Court, all levels of Court in Ontario, and in international and domestic arbitrations.

Thomas litigates in a wide variety of fields ranging from entertainment to power generation to treaty rights. He has also acted for clients in diverse creative and technical industries such as filmmaking, music, manufacturing, consumer products, acoustics, software, telecommunications, gaming, pharmaceuticals, and resource extraction and processing.

Jocelyn supports clients looking to have impact at the intersection of innovation, industry and government. She facilitates public private partnerships that create financial value and positive impact for communities.

Jocelyn advocates for client interests before government agencies and representatives including the Federal Government of Canada, Ontario Government and US Government. She creates ESG strategies that are actionable and measurable, driving investor and stakeholder confidence, and help to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).  

Prior to returning to Gilbert’s, Jocelyn was co-CEO of one of Canada’s largest impact investors, Grand Challenges Canada. She was formerly General Counsel, Secretary to the Board, VP Operations & Director of Business Strategy. She is also a board member of the Canadian Network for Women & Children’s Health and was recognized as one of Canada’s ‘Top 40 Under 40’, and as a Canadian Woman Leader in Global Health.
