Biography
Alessia is an articling student at Gilbert’s, where she supports the Slingshot team and the litigation team on a variety of matters. She has a background in software and brings a strong interdisciplinary perspective to her work to help clients navigate complex legal and technical challenges.
Alessia earned her JD at the University of Toronto Law School where she competed in various moot competitions, winning the grand prize at the Oxford International Intellectual Property Moot competition in 2025 and the award for Best Appellant Factum at the Harold G. Fox Intellectual Property Moot in 2024. She also pursued her interest in law and technology as president of the Privacy and Cybersecurity Law Group.
Alessia has an honors degree in Cognitive Science with a concentration in Computer Science from McGill University. At McGill, she served as avionics team lead on the McGill Rocket Team, a student-run design team that builds and launches suborbital rockets at amateur rocketry competitions. After graduating, Alessia worked in computer vision leveraging machine learning technologies to identify images of biological samples.
Outside of work, Alessia enjoys yoga, playing video games, solving daily chess puzzles, and practicing the piano. She also speaks a little Italian.
