Gilbert's LLP is an agile, energetic law firm at the heart of some of North America's most complex and sophisticated legal matters. Our firm's history is rooted in advocacy, regulatory negotiations, government relations and 'bet the company' intellectual property challenges that occur across borders. We succeed because we make business sense of the complex and unconventional, allowing us to provide clients with unique solutions.
Gilbert's has a proven track record of resolving difficult cases creatively. We obtained funding for amateur hockey among women and in underprivileged communities by challenging the NHL's rights to the Stanley Cup. We negotiated a deal on behalf of the Province of Ontario in a significant waste dispute with the State of Michigan. We successfully represented the underdog in two of North America's largest cross-border patent infringement cases in the last five years.

We have created a unique workplace where everyone maintains their individuality while at the same time playing an important role on the team. Our firm is young, dynamic and aggressive. We opened in the summer of 2001. Our colleagues describe us as a 'funky' law firm. Our clients describe us as an outstanding law firm.
We are among the best when it comes to quality work product, supportive work environment, and the potential for personal development. There are no constraints on personal growth and career development at Gilbert's.
This is a great opportunity for the taking. Gilbert's students become directly involved in everything that we do. Students work with lawyers on
all aspects of files, from strategy development and research, to attendance at client meetings and court appearances. Our students have appeared before administrative tribunals and all levels of courts, attended Parliamentary hearings in Ottawa and have been included in meetings with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission in Washington, D.C.
A student at Gilbert's will be exposed to administrative and regulatory law, food and drug law, intellectual property litigation, commercial litigation, corporate matters, technology licensing, and environmental and municipal law.

Pro Bono
Gilbert's LLP aggressively pursues pro bono work. The firm's commitment to pro bono work is a direct result of the members' belief that membership in the bar requires a commitment to serving members of society barred from justice on the basis of cost alone.
We spend approximately ten percent of our time on pro bono work, exceeding the standards of the American Bar Association's Law Firm Pro Bono Challenge, which challenges law firms to dedicate at least three percent of their billable hours to pro bono work.
