Meredith Bacal

Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Meredith began her law career at the age of 5, successfully negotiating "nutritious apples" for delicious pudding packs. Figuring that negotiating on behalf of multi-million dollar clients could be as simple as lunchtime negotiation, she went on to study at the Richard Ivey School of Business to develop her business acumen and then attend Osgoode Hall for law school. At Osgoode, she expanded her knowledge of the judicial system as well as her beer repertoire.

After articling at a national law firm, Meredith joined Gilbert's entertainment litigation group. Meredith also works passionately in the areas of trademark prosecution, and copyright, commercial, and trademark litigation, advising clients on the protection and enforcement of intellectual property. Her passion and commitment is evident in her work and in her continued support for the Toronto Blue Jays (even before they were cool).

When she's not at the office, she can be seen at the yoga studio, meditating on her next dark beer.
