Maya graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law in 2016. Always the underachiever, Maya won a prize or two (or five) at law school. She is a recipient of the Gowlings WLC Prize in Trial Advocacy (2016), the Gowlings Prize in Innovation Law and Policy (2015), the Patricia Myhal Scholarship in Legal Writing (2015), the University of Toronto Faculty of Law Leadership Award (2015), and was named Best Oralist and part of the winning team at the Julius Alexander Isaac Diversity Moot (2015). In her third year, Maya was the Executive Editor of the Critical Analysis of Law Journal.

Not only did Maya master law school, but she also mastered the art of English literature at Queen’s University. Her Master’s research, which employed digital tools to study otherwise nigh inaccessible eighteenth- and nineteenth-century texts, was supported by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.

When she isn’t putting her big brain to work in the office, Maya can be found playing dodgeball, watching documentaries, or cooking ambitious meals
